Who We Are

Kinshasa:


Georgette Nyembo Faila (MA Food Science), Chair of the Board of FIDES, the Founding Director of the FIDES Home for Children and LeChevronné primary and secondary school. The daughter of university professors, she is ‘mother’ to the children and a tireless entrepreneur.

Canada:

JohnDavid Pankratz (MBA), Project Contact /Chair. (contact JohnDavid
JD has worked for several international and local non-governmental organizations as accountant and program manager. He visits FIDES frequently, staying at the orphanage to gain insight into the daily operations, and work with Georgette to map out the future for FIDES and the associated school, Le Chevronné

Colleen Epp. Colleen spearheads our pie and rollkuchen fundraiser, and provides valuable insight to our decisions. Colleen visited FIDES for the first time in 2022.

Brian Wiebe (PhD). Brian maintains our website. He is an agronomist with extensive experience in prairie and tropical agriculture (worked for seven years with Mennonite Central Committee).

Kim Fast, Chair, Events Committee. Kim and the other members of the Events Committee are the brains behind the Crokinole Tournament and other fundraisers.

Zakk Fast, Events Committee. Zakk visited the orphanage for the first time in September 2016.

Rachel Bergman (RN), Events Committee. Rachel is a nurse and looks after our Instagram postings.

Dan Bergman, Events Committee. Dan is a music teacher and MC’s our fundraiser events.

We are all volunteers, including Georgette.  Our 2% overhead pays for audits, website hosting, and bank fees.
